Pink Pizzazz Returns

On September 1, 2019, in the Student Union Ballroom of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, over 500 spirited revelers gathered for the annual experience of Pink Pizzazz Zydeco and Jazz Brunch. Then, in its fifth year as a highlight of the Labor Day Weekend, Pink Pizzazz, the signature event of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Chi Omega Chapter and the Ivy Legacy Foundation of Acadiana, featured the best of Southwest Louisiana-- delicious food, authentic sounds, and beautiful people dressed in their Sunday's best. Like every good party in Louisiana, the brunch was a culminating celebration of community and purpose.

Annually, Pink Pizzazz recognizes stakeholders and partners in service and serves as a signature fundraiser for the philanthropic endeavors of the sponsoring organizations. The record-breaking attendance at the 2019 Pink Pizzazz Zydeco and Jazz Brunch positioned Eta Chi Omega and the Ivy Legacy Foundation of Acadiana to serve Acadiana in the areas of education, health and wellness, economics, social justice, and the arts at greater levels.

The pandemic of 2020 and the subsequent regulations regarding in-person events paused the always-anticipated Pink Pizzazz. With renewed interest and enthusiasm, a revitalized Pink Pizzazz Zydeco and Jazz Brunch returns on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the Cade Community Center from 11:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m., with the Ivy Legacy Foundation of Acadiana, Incorporated as its host. The must-attend Labor Day Weekend event includes a lineup of soulful Louisiana locals, including the Bunk Johnson Brazz Band, Deuce Jacko, and Dr. Boogie Live.
